5th Polish Festival - Most Amazing None-Rain Story
Here it was, official weather forecast for Saturday, August 29th, 2015. Day of 5th Polish Festival
in Martinez.
When we were told that there is a 20% chance of rain that day we thought someone is making a joke. Well, that was not a joke. It was official weather prediction. You can image the looks and disbelieve on our faces. By the way, the weather that week was hot, dry and we had no rain for months. Od course we had no choice but to continue our preparations as planned. On the day of the event, the clouds did show up and were gathering around Bay Area and of course Martinez. This was very warm and pleasant morning and we were too busy to even look up the skies to worry. Several vendors arriving from other parts of Contra Costa County and South Bay were reporting their encounter with the RAIN. For very short moment we could feel little drizzle and few drops of water. The Festival has started at 10:00 am without an incident. From that point the weather was getting better and better by the minute. We saw dark clouds above us but somehow they were miraculously moving left and right to help us that day. By noon or so, we were certain that we were saved that that day by "Someone". That was a good feeling and we all were extremely grateful for it. Also, on behalf of the East Bay Polish American Association I would like to Thank You All for your hard work, commitment, dedication, involvement, volunteerism, good will and the most important, your friendship. I could go on and on. The words can't describe what you have done over the years for all of us. There is one certain thing. Without You, Polish Festival would not exist and flourish the way it does. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! And now, please sit back and enjoy the illustrated story of that amazing day for our Polish Community in Martinez. |
