"Our Gazette"
"Nasza Gazetka" ("Our Gazette") is a monthly, cultural and social interest newsletter for the Polish Community of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The newsletter includes sections on historical events, religion, national and international news. Each edition displays a current Events Calendar for the Polish community in Northern California, providing details of the cultural events, Polish organization's undertaking and other happenings. "Our Gazette" devotes a lot of space to Polish WWII veterans living locally, who took part in battles on different fronts.
All regional Polish community events are well covered. We include a critic's review of Polish theater performances, as well as discuss various lectures and meetings with the local Polish community. We memorialize the passing of well-known and meritorious Poles with an obituary and a biography.
"Our Gazette" is the only Polish language periodical in the region serving of its readers without interruption for the past 12 years. The publication is run by one person but does welcome the opinion of its readers by printing their letters or articles. From its onset, "Our Gazette" has been collected by the National Library in Warsaw, Poland, assembling one copy in the Archives of Continuous Foreign Publications and displaying a second copy for the viewing by the general public, as there are many who are interested in the life of the Polish community of Northern California. The publication of "Our Gazette" is distributed via postal mail and e-mail to anyone interested.
